How to Generate a Certificate of Insurance on Coverdash
If you need a Certificate of Insurance (COI) from Coverdash, follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Access your Coverdash dashboard
To begin, go to coverdash.com in your web browser. Once you're on the website, click on the "Login" button located at the top right corner. If you have forgotten your password, you can refer to our "Forgot Your Password" article for assistance.
Step 2: Navigate to the Certificates tab
After logging in successfully, you will be directed to your dashboard. On the left-hand side, you will see a menu. Click on the "Certificates" tab to proceed.
Step 3: Create a new certificate
Within the Certificates section, you will find a button labeled "New Certificate." Click on this button to initiate the COI generation process.
Step 4: Choose the policy (or select multiple polices) for which you’re obtaining the COI for
Choose the policy for which you require the COI. If you need the COI to fulfill an e-commerce requirement, you can select the "Marketplace" option as a template. This template will automatically populate the necessary information for you.
Step 5: Provide details of the certificate holder (the company you would like to share your proof of insurance with)
Certificate holder name: name of the company you would like to share your proof of insurance with.
Certificate holder email: email of the company you would like to share your proof of insurance with.
Certificate address, city state and zip: address of the company you would like to share your proof of insurance with.
Step 6: Additional insured (optional)
Sometimes a company will request to be an additional insured (this means that the policy you purchased also covers them). In that case, fill out the information as follows:
Certificate holder name: Name of company requesting to be additional insured.
Certificate holder email: email of company requesting to be additional insured.
Certificate address, city state and zip: Address of company requesting to be additional insured.
After the information is entered make sure to check the box “add as additional insured”
Keep in mind that adding an additional insured requires approval from our agent before the Certificate of Insurance can be generated if the selected policy does not include blanket additional insureds. Upon approval, the COI will be emailed to you or accessible in your user dashboard.
Step 7: Description of operations (optional)
In some cases, a company will ask for specific information in the description of operations. If that happens, just type the description into the “Description of operations” box.
Including the description of operations also requires approval from our agent before the Certificate of Insurance can be generated. Upon approval, the COI will be emailed to you or accessible in your user dashboard.
Step 8: Submit your request
After filling in all the necessary information, click on the "Submit" button to generate your COI. Coverdash will automatically generate the certificate for you.
Furthermore, after submitting your request, you can access your certificates in the Certificates tab on your dashboard. There, you will find the option to download a PDF copy of your COI. This PDF version can be saved for your records or shared with others as needed.
